About Me

Hello!
I’m David a proud North Walian with Celtic fire in my veins, a quarter-Scottish heart that beats a little faster in the Highlands, and an absolute obsession with anything mythical that flies, swims, or breathes fire.
I grew up in the shadow of Y Wyddfa (Snowdon), where dragons aren’t just legends — they’re in the flag, the songs, and my blood. I was the kid who drew dragons on every schoolbook, dreamed of riding unicorns, and believed Pegasus might one day swoop down and whisk me off to the mountains.
Horses were my first love in real life, and I spent my early twenties grooming for an Olympic three-day event rider on the British team. There’s something about the power and grace of a horse that still makes my heart race.
Life took a few unexpected turns. In my late twenties I moved back home to Anglesey to help my mum, and somehow thirty-plus years later I’m still here — running the family care home with a lot of love, and the occasional dragon mug in the staff room.
In the middle of all that I somehow squeezed in two more passions: owning and competing my own horses, and building a team of six glorious Siberian huskies that I raced up in Aviemore. Those Cairngorm trips changed everything. I fell head-over-heels for the wild Scottish landscape — the mist, the lochs, the deer, the golden eagles riding the thermals, the stories of kelpies rising from the water. I even bought a little house up there, so now I split my time between the island I call home and the mountains that stole my heart.
About a year ago I realised I was missing something creative. Running a care home is rewarding, but it doesn’t leave much room for dragons. So I started putting mythical creatures on mugs and ceramics… and then I couldn’t stop. Soon I was designing T-shirts and hoodies too — because nothing feels better than wearing a creature you created, or seeing someone else proudly wearing one.
Every design comes from a place of pure joy: Welsh dragons curling around Celtic knots, kelpies galloping through Highland mist, golden eagles soaring over ancient forests, unicorns and pegasi catching the wind. I pour my love of Wales, Scotland, horses, huskies, and wild places into every piece.
My big dream? That by the time I finally hand the care home keys to someone else, this little mythical empire will be ticking along nicely — letting me wake up in the Cairngorms, walk the hills with my camera, watch eagles, and maybe even spot the occasional kelpie in the loch. And mostly, that the things I make bring a little bit of magic, a smile, and a story to whoever wears or uses them.
So if you’ve ever felt a pull toward dragons, kelpies, or creatures that don’t exist but absolutely should… you’re in the right place. Welcome to the herd.
David.
