Enter the grotesque horror of Bantu African folklore with Devouring Gourd (also known as Devouring Pumpkin) — a monstrous, carnivorous gourd born from evil sorcery that grows to enormous size and swallows entire villages whole.
A colossal, bloated pumpkin-like gourd hulks in the center of the design, its rind a sickly mix of deep orange and bruised green, cracked and veined like rotting flesh. Its massive mouth gapes wide — a jagged, tooth-like opening lined with sharp, fibrous spikes and dripping tendrils, large enough to engulf a person in one greedy gulp. Glowing sickly yellow-orange light pulses from deep inside its cavernous throat, illuminating half-digested silhouettes of unfortunate victims trapped within. Twisted vines and curling stems wrap around its body like hungry tentacles, ready to lash out and drag more prey closer. Oversized, fun yet nightmarish, the Devouring Gourd seems to roll forward with malicious glee, its surface alive with faint, eerie ridges that almost look like screaming faces.
Printed with high-contrast halftone techniques on premium black fabric, the design explodes with luminous, grotesque accents in radiant pumpkin-orange, venomous gourd-green, spectral yellow glow, and deep blood-red splatters. These intense highlights make the gaping maw, pulsing interior, and writhing vines burst dramatically off the dark garment, creating a bold, hypnotic blend of playful pumpkin charm and stomach-churning terror.
